What is GL construction work method?

 

First of all, we are explaining GL construction work method.

GL construction method is, firstly we carry out the work of sweeping bedding(=sticking surface) on gypsum board(We call it GL board or plaster board)

and doing primer painting(Work of painting to make GL bond easy to be sticked on bedding on the surface of concrete directly).

Then, we knead a kind of adhesive called GL bond at the site,

paint on wall at a certain interval. Then, it is the construction work method of gluing board there.

■Merit of GL construction work method

・Shorten the construction work period

・Good workability

・Possible to do construction work also where there is not enough space to secure mounting LGS(=light gauge steel) bedding.

(≒In the case of enabling to secure a room space a little more)

 

As its merit, because we can omit the process of mounting bedding using LGS, it is not only shorten construction work period,

but also the construct work itself is becoming easy to that extent, which is rather crucial.

The second point is, we can mount LGS at the place which is difficult to do construction work.

 

For example, in the case of above construction work picture, gypsum board is done construction work at the right side of the workers. However,

if we mount LGS here and do normal construction work, the wall turns out to be narrower by LGS thickness itself.

As it is possible to stick on board at very close to the wall, we can use the space efficiently.

Under GL construction work(after partly board sticking)

 

■Demerit of GL construction work

・Losing sound insulating property, and heat insulating property.

・Just only usable for concrete wall.

・Although possible to secure space widely, invisible wiring is not possible.

 

As the demerit in the first place, we can point out that we lose sound insulating property and heat insulating property as above.

Coating adhesive on concrete wall, and gluing board after all is loosing air space of LGS bedding mounting space,

and also becoming unable to fill heat insulation materials inside. So, it will lead to loose sound insulating property and heat insulating property.

The solution method is, for enhancing sound insulation property, double gluing of the board or inserting sound absorbing material.

Returning to the fundamental point, it may be considered not to adopt GL construction method.

As the second point, concerning it is only usable for concrete wall, it seems that it is unavoidable for the character of material as a matter of convenience.

The third demerit is, as it may be close to the merit, when mounting bedding with LGS, air space between skeleton wall and board happens to be created,

so, it is possible to pass electric wiring at the wall inside. However, it has turned out to be impossible for GL construction work method.

Although GL construction work method is becoming better workability very much,

we have to do construction work cautiously if you require sound insulation property and heat insulating property.
